Project Overview

Maven Careers is a fictional non-profit organization that helps high school seniors find career paths. They perform an annual round of school visits and present data from various industries across the US, but have received feedback that the presentation should be more interactive to drive up student engagement.

Goals

The goal was to create a dashboard to help seniors answer these questions:

• Which industries have the highest annual wages?
• How large is the employment pool by industry relative to the whole market?
• Are there any yearly trends worth noting?
• Which states present the best opportunities for each industry?

Skills Learned

Through this project, I enhanced my skills in:

• Data visualization using Microsoft Excel
• Creating interactive dashboards
• Analyzing industry data
• Understanding labor market trends

Creation Process

I enrolled in the Open Campus event for 10 days in Maven Analytics to enhance my skills in data visualization. The course was completely based on real-world projects, featuring four advanced projects designed for interactivity, allowing students to explore industries, highlight trends, and visualize metrics on the map.
